La Vela Puerca
La Vela Puerca is one of Uruguay's most famous rock bands. It was founded in 1995 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
Protagonist of the second wave of new Uruguayan rock of the late nineties, they are one of the most popular bands in the country. They were among the first to achieve international audiences.
Its founders were Sebastián Teysera (lead vocals, frontman and main songwriter), Nicolás Lieutier (bass guitar) and Santiago Butler (guitar) - all three are still part of the band today.
